DON'T STOP, YOU'LL DIE! v0.0.1.3.2 Update


Hey everyone! Another small update here. This one mainly focused on balancing and fixing items, I have also implemented a Player Stats system, which works with item effects now. Here are the patch notes! Again, thank you for playing, and as always - feedback is appreciated!

BALANCING:
- Slightly increased the player i-frames when taking damage. 1 -> 1.25
- Slightly increased the player i-frames when dashing. 0.5 -> 0.6
- Various variable tweaking to make the game a bit easier; 
- Debuffed enemy HP.
- Buffed player weapon damage.
- Balanced Item Effects:

  • Blood Donor;
    • Damage +3 -> +4
    • Max HP -15 -> -10.
  • Mercenary’s Bandana;
    • Damage +1 -> +2
    • Fire Rate +0.5 -> -5
  • Sacred Heart; 
    • Damage +2 -> +3
    • Heal +1 HP -> +15 HP
  • Jerry Can; 
    • DoT Lifetime 10s-> 8s 
  • Cup O’ Coffee;
    • Damage -2 -> -1
    • Fire Rate +0.75 -> -5
    • Move Speed +1 -> +2
  • Energy Drink;
    •  Fire Rate +5 -> -5
    • Move Speed +2 -> +1 
  • Inhaler;
    • Max HP -10 -> -15
    • Move Speed 0.25 -> 0.5
  • 8 Ball;
    •  Fire Rate -1 -> -1.75
    • Max HP +20 -> -10
    • Move Speed +1 -> +1.25
  • Dirty Bandage;
    • Heal +25 HP -> +5 HP
  • Glass Eye;
    • Fire Rate 0.75 -> -1.25
    • Recoil -0.25 -> -0.75
  • Lucky Rabbit’s Foot;
    • Move Speed 0.5 -> 0.75
  • Heart;
    • Max HP +50 -> +25

GAMEPLAY:
- Reduced ammo in Burst Rifle: 42 -> 36.
- Player can now only pick up health drops when HP is below their max HP.
- Max coin count capped at 999. 
- Implemented the foundation for the Player Stats system - now, when buying items from Gort’s Wares, they will correctly modify the player’s stats. These stats include;

  • Damage.
  •  Fire Rate.
  • Move Speed.
  • Max HP Stat

- Fixed the known issues with the “Razor Blade” item effect.
- Added status effects

- Temporarily Removed Items:

  • Guillotine.
  • Slot Machine.
  • Poison.
  • Lottery Ticket.
  • Tombstone.
  • Dog Tooth.
  • Crystal Ball.
  • Magnet.
  • Brass Knuckles.
  • Crown of Thorns.
  • Matchbox.
  • Burnt Matchstick.

ART:
- Walls now appear correctly in Gort’s shop.
- Corridors now properly render on the minimap.
- Mort’s “GUNS” Neon sign now lights up.

ANIMATION:
- Removed weapon reload animations.
- Added Idle and Walk animations for enemies.

MISC:
- Scene transition screen now works correctly in the main menu.
- Player’s coin amount now correctly displays in the shops.
- Cleaned up the Health Bar visuals - it now has a colour gradient from green to red depending on HP value.
- Added some visual feedback when shooting enemies;
- Splatters of blood on the floor.
- Added a UI pop-up to display the player’s stats.

BUG FIXES:
- Player can no longer shoot while reloading.
- Player can now freely aim during weapon reloading.
- Fixed a bug which caused the weapon ammo UI to not set correctly upon loading into a level.
- Fixed a bug which caused weapons to auto-fire when picked up.
- Fixed a bug which caused Mort’s Gun Shop to not display the available guns, causing a softlock.
- Fixed a bug which caused the Burst Rifle to not shoot at all.
- Player can no longer pause the game when in the shop.
